Data NotesDeaths were coded under the 10th revision of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD). Age-adjusted death rates were calculated using the direct method and the projected United States 2000 population as the standard.
DefinitionSuicides include all resident deaths where a suicide was coded as the underlying (primary) cause of death.
