Data for Percentage of Adults Who Are Neither Overweight nor Obese for Select Counties, 2010
Data NotesBMI is computed as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared (kg/m*m). BMI is an intermediate variable used in defining overweight and obesity. Underweight indicates BMI is less than 18.5, Recommended Range indicates BMI is 18.5 to 24.9, Overweight indicates BMI is 25.0 to 29.9 and Obese indicates BMI is 30.0 or greater. This measure is based on data from the North Carolina Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (NC BRFSS), a random-digit dial telephone survey. BRFSS data are representative of the total non-institutionalized N.C. population aged 18 years and older living in households with a telephone.
DefinitionOverweight and obese estimates are based on self-reported height and weight, which are used to generate Body Mass Index (BMI) calculations.
