This indicator is based on sexually transmitted disease data reported to the State Laboratory of Public Health (SLPH). The
SLPH provides testing for the Infertility Prevention Project (IPP), which includes testing for chlamydia.
The state percentage excludes data from Durham, Forsyth, Guilford, Mecklenburg and Wake counties, as they are not funded by
the IPP and do not send their screening tests to the SLPH. This may result in a value that does not represent the actual statewide
percentage. The HNC 2020 target, which is the target to be reached by 2020, is repeated in the data table for graphing purposes.
