Data Notes

This measure is based on estimates derived from the Current Population Survey's Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC). The CPS ASEC is a national survey conducted by jointly by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau. It provides state-level estimates of insurance coverage for individuals. The HNC 2020 target, which is the target to be reached by 2020, is repeated in the data table for graphing purposes.

How We Calculated the Rates

Numerator: Number of individuals less than 65 years of age not covered by health insurance during the year
Denominator: Total population less than 65 years of age
